im super excited for our upcoming vacation after numerous nights of brain storming what to bring,hotel bookings, flight reservations,party organizing with my sister who did some works for me to settle everything even before we came ,made a shopping trip to buy some chocolates,personal stuff to complete our vanity kit & some medicines finally im done just waiting for the day to pick our bags and go, sleep in the plane and see you Philippines, i been there maybe 3 mos ago but im still excited never mind the long flight and jet lags..
I packed our bags numerous times since 2012, for short week end get away, spending holidays,visiting a family & friends in another cities /state, cruise ship get away, international travel, in packing a bag one key is maximizing the space and i almost master that already, what i usually do was:
calculate the duration of the entire vacation to avoid over packing, for me i usually brain storm outfit each day and to maximized my clothes i will mix & match, for this trip we have 17 days including the travel time so i packed 17 sets of outfits and some of them are mix & match like in 1 shorts i will create 2 outfits out fits same thing with my husbands clothing (photos 5-7 & 9)
giving consideration to the place where you going and packed appropriate clothing, since Philippines is a tropical country i packed shorts & skirt for a hot ,humid day..
know the activities you will engage in when you reach youre destination, for us we will have a pool party and we will go to the famous white sand Boracay beach so i packed some swim suites & trunks for hubz.
im kinda OC personality so i always organized my stuff and if im going somewhere and its planned its expected that a night before i go my bags are set, my cloths are set, everything are set because i dont want to forget something and to stress out about it, so for this trip 3 days before our flight i made sure everything is ready the pass ports, all the booking papers for flights & hotels are in my bag.
know the restrictions when you are travelling by plane, sea, & by land and even the place you are going, for an instance if your travelling in the Middle east be aware that some women cover their hair or in KSA (saudi ) women cover their face, hair and body, going to a foreign country is a big culture shock and much more if you dont have any idea about the place. And be ready that in some country they dont speak English so communication is hard.
in packing the bag, fold your clothes well dont just crumple it and toss it in your bag the more the neater you fold your clothes the more you maximized the space sometimes if space is too tight fold the clothes neatly and roll it as small as u can get.
for the shoes wear the most bulkiest pair you got so it will give more room to your other stuff and if your bringing sneakers or closed shoes , put some socks inside too,but not the hanky..lool..wink..
and same goes with the bag too for this trip i packed extra small bag for running around the city and i will carry my bigger sachel bag (3rd photo) where in i can put my tablet my sunnies,my vanity kit,medicines, and anything i want to be handy in the plane.
i always bring extra set of clothes & toiletress in my hand carry bag in case of delays.
